Kat Von D Beauty MetalMatte Eyeshadow Palette | Review

When I first saw that Kat was releasing this palette I was super excited. I already have lots of colourful metallic eyeshadows but not many colourful mattes to work into them but this palette gives you lots of options for both. I have already fallen in love with the KVD matte shadows but have only tried one of the metal crush eyeshadows so was interested to see how they performed. The finish isn’t exactly the same for all of them, some have more glitter in and others have a finer metallic shine, they are all beautiful and pigmented however.

The matte shadows are all superb, with ribbon and silk being slightly more sheer than the others, the rest are all highly pigmented. The palette is highly versatile with there being options to create neutral looks as well as bold and colourful looks. The only downside to the palette is the size! It’s a lot bigger than I expected making it not particularly kit or travel friendly.

My friend’s parents picked this up for me while on a recent trip to the US but it will be available soon at Debenhams for £50 and is available now from Sephora for $60.

All items in this post were purchased by myself. All opinions are my own.

With Kat Von D Beauty launching in Debenhams UK on 5th October 2016 I thought it was finally time to post about the KVD items that my parents picked up for me when they visited Miami earlier this year.

Shade and Light Palette

The Shade and Light Palette is the perfect powder contour set featuring a mix of cool and warm tones. The shade range is wide allowing it to be used over a wide range of skin tones. I actually use the middle contour shade as a bronzer for my pale skin. The shades all have a good level of pigment, but not so much so that it makes them hard to blend, and the buttery formula glides over the skin. While I don’t really use matte highlight powders I have found them useful to lighten up the complexion if I’ve done my base a little too dark. The packaging is chic and slimline allowing it to fit nicely into your makeup bag or kit.

The palette is $46 and available from the KVD website  (I’ll add UK links when they launch)

Shade and Light Eye Palette

The Shade and Light Eye Palette is the perfect companion to work along side the face palette. The palette is all matte and features a range of warm and cool tones from light to dark. This is probably the only all matte neutrals palette that you’ll ever need!

(l-r: Laetus, Lazarus and Ludwin)

(l-r: Samael, Solas and Lucuis)

6

(l-r: Saleos, Shax and Liberatus)

The shadows all blend like a dream and work well alone or when paired with shimmer shades.

The palette is $46 and available here

Everlasting Liquid Lipstick

1

Now while I am a bit over liquid lipsticks (I find them too dry for everyday wear) the Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are a pretty nice texture and not super drying. The only annoying thing I find about them is the packaging. It’s long and thin so the applicator is pretty long which means you don’t get quite as much control as I’d like so I prefer to put them on with a lip brush.

(Ignore how badly applied it is but here is Echo on the lips)

The Everlasting Liquid Lipsticks are $20 and available here

When KVD Beauty launches here what are you most excited to try? I’m looking forward to trying the concealer, especially the white shade!
